PROFESSIONALISM IS A LIMITED TERM
I think professionalism is a limited term for business owners.
Hear me out!!!
Whenever I hear the word "professional" my mind goes all the way back to college to me sitting in business school, being told that the way you use your utensils can be seen as unprofessional...
Like ok...
I think the world of business (especially in the online space & on social media) means so much more now than what it did when you had to dress up in a suit and sit in an office for most of your day.
I remember being so uncomfortable picking out an outfit to wear for a marketing presentation because to me, there was literally no way I could feel comfortable or confident in those types of clothes!
I wanted to rip them off lololol
If I had to dress business casual and sit in my home office, I would literally get NOTHING done. I would be pulling and tugging on my clothes all day while thinking how much better I'd feel if I had something comfortable to wear.
Don’t even get me started on tattoos..
I think (for the most part) we've surpassed the days of how you look depends solely on how professional you are. Hopefully.
My clients hire me because I can get the job done - not because I begin my emails with “I hope this email finds you well”.
