SEX SELLS BUT SO DOES SKILL

Sex sells but so does skill.

I'm not one to deny the fact that the online business space (just like any other industry) runs on privilege.

I would be ignorant to say it doesn't…

Whether it's white privilege, pretty privilege, or financial privilege - it's definitely there whether you choose to see and acknowledge it or not.

Especially in the social media business space - it's a competition for who's page looks the most "aesthetic" and most "elevated".

& sometimes the people who benefit from these privileges (me included) might be recognized before others who may not.

Privilege can play a huge role in how many inquiries you get on a consistent basis - but your skill is what makes people stay long-term.

Your zone of genius. The thing you're the most passionate about. The problem you solve for your ideal client is what will have them saving a place for you at the dinner table... you know what I mean? 🍽

Like listen, if you fit the beauty standard but don't have the expertise to back up your job title and services, it's gonna be a rough road ahead of you!

If you are doing things right and ethically, you will come out successful in the end.

People want reliable people - that's it. (At least the people I want to work with)
