WHAT DOES FEMININITY MEAN TO YOU?
Well, I’ll tell you what it means to me - Being whoever the f*** you want to be.
Here’s a little story for ya...
Growing up, I would always play with my older brother & his friends. & I remember distinctly when a family friend of my parents at the time sat me down & said I needed to be more “girly.”
I WAS 8!!!!
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of people out there who do think femininity & masculinity are gender-specific. (reaaaaal inclusive right?)
Well, to be frank, that is a bunch of BULLSH!T.
& let me tell you why,
Did you hear the uproar about Harry Styles wearing that periwinkle blue dress in Vogue? People were absolutely losing it. (Head-to-toe in Gucci might I add*)
I was hearing all this hoopla about “make men manly again”- Almost like wearing a dress made Harry… weak* (& remember femininity is a term that is “identified” with women….)
I said it before & I’ll say it again:
WEARING FEMININE OR MASCULINE CLOTHING DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR GENDER OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION
So, I guess all I’m trying to say is that femininity is whatever you want it to be. I think it’s something to be proud of. It's where you can feel comfortable & confident in your own skin (& this goes for ANYONE).
